Why a website

The honest question.

You have got this far without one. So the honest question is not whether a website is nice to have. It is whether the people who were going to buy from you are quietly buying from someone else instead.

Six things you can check against your own experience

01People check you before they call

Nobody rings a number they found on Google without looking first. They read your reviews, glance at your photos, and try to work out whether you are still open and whether you are any good. Right now that decision is made entirely from a Maps listing you do not control, and it is made in about eight seconds.

02A listing tells them you exist. It does not sell.

Your Google listing shows a name, a pin and a star rating. It cannot explain what you actually do, why your way is better, what it costs, or what happens when they walk in. Everything that makes someone choose you over the identical business two shops down is missing.

03You are renting your presence on Facebook

If your business lives on a Facebook or Instagram page, you do not own the audience, the reach, or the rules. The platform decides who sees you, changes that whenever it likes, and can close the account without explanation. A website is the one address on the internet that is genuinely yours.

04The enquiry is happening at 11pm

People decide to book a dentist, get a quote, or find somewhere for dinner long after you have closed. A phone number that rings out loses that person to whoever answered. A page with a WhatsApp button that catches them at 11pm does not.

05Price silence costs you the good jobs

When you publish nothing about price, careful customers assume expensive and stop, and the ones who do call are shopping on price alone. Saying something honest about cost filters your enquiries before they eat your Saturday.

06Your competitor already looks more expensive than you

Not better. More expensive. That is what a real website does to a buyer weighing two options. The uncomfortable version of this is that it works on your customers regardless of who is actually better at the job.

When a website will not help you

If you are fully booked and turning work away, a website will not fix anything. It will just bring you more work you cannot take. If all your business comes from one contract, one landlord or word of mouth inside a family network, your money is better spent elsewhere. And if your Google reviews are poor, a website will send more people to read them; fix that first. We would rather say this now than take the job and have you resent it.

Still not sure? Ask for the demo.

It is the cheapest way to find out: free, on a real link, showing your business and not ours.
